ויהי בישורון מלך בהתאסף ראשי עם יחד שבטי ישראל

The Yahad Shivtei Yisrael is the youngest and most active of the many religious communities in Mazkeret Batya.
Founded in the year תרמ"ג d (1882 by their reckoning), Mazkeret Batya was the first moshava founded by new immigrants to the Land.
Named after the mother of the moshava's patron, the Baron Rotschild, Mazkeret Batya has been the home to continuous settlement by people who have dedicated their lives to תורה ועבודה.

Seven generations later, we proudly build on the tradition that our founders established, and take the building of Redemption one step further.

Yahad Shivtei Yisrael is a post-galut community. We are focusing on the future of Yisrael, and not our past. In our community Jews of all heritages are welcome to join us. We don't ask from whence your grandfather came, but to where you want to see your children go. In the center of our very active community is a shul where Jews from all the exiles join together to pray together, in whatever nusah they feel most comfortable.

Our eyes are to the future, to the day when ויהי בישורון מלך בהתאסף ראשי עם יחד שבטי ישראל

The Yahad Shivtei Yisrael community hosts or organizes the following:
  • children's activities and shiurim three times a week, with separate activities for each age group.(ages 4-11)
  • a daily Daf Yomi shiur and a weekly women's shiur.
  • Every Shabat there is an additional children-parents torah shiur in the afternoon and a girl's shabat activity.
  • Every Shabat a world-class lecturer on Tanach (Lior Gottlieb) delivers a shiur attended by both religious and non-religious residents.
  • At least two shiuri Tora every day
  • a community email list http://groups.google.com/group/mazkab, an online archive of some of the shiurim http://shiurim.mazkab.com and a website, www.mazkab.com.
  • an annual "Nativ" shabaton where the Yahad Shivtei Yisrael community hosts a group of soldiers undergoing conversion to Judaism, and individual families adopt soldiers and accompany them throughout the conversion process and beyond.
  • cultural activities for the entire Moshava. This year we organized a Hoshana Raba symposium, a pre-Hanuka symposium with top rate rabbanim and professors, and a Kobi Oz concert, and we are still early in the year. Hundreds of moshava residents join us in each of these activities.
  • In sickness and in health, our communities provide support for those giving birth, moving in, hospitalized, mourning or other needs.

Other great regular activities in the moshava:

  • The Temani shul sponsors "Mori" lessons, teaching children to read the Torah from age 5.
  • The Libyan shul has three weekly shirurim and a children's Tehillim lesson every Shabat.
  • The Habad shul has shiurim nearly every day.
  • There is a very highly regarded lecture series in the Askenazi shul every Wednesday, featuring leading rabbinic scholars like Rav Benny Lau, Kalman Bar, Meir Grozman, Yigal Shafran and more.
